"Easily identified by its massive muzzle break, the JNG-90 serves as the standard sniper rifle of the Turkish army. This modern rifle has integral rail systems and many other accessory options, making it adaptable to shifting situations. It provides the shooter great stopping power, as well as sub MOA accuracy."

— Battlelog description

The JNG-90 is a weapon introduced in the Battlefield 3: Close Quarters expansion and is unlocked upon the completion of the Bullet Point assignment. It was first seen in the Close Quarters Donya Fortress Gameplay Trailer.

The JNG-90 functions similarity to the L96, featuring a slow bolt cycle time, high bullet velocity, and a 10 round magazine. Its stats stand between the medium velocity rifles like the M40A5 and SV98, and the M98B with its extreme velocity. The bolt cycle times on both the L96 and JNG-90 are very slow compared even to the M98B while the magazine size is 10 rounds like the medium velocity rifles.

Like all bolt action rifles, the JNG-90 kills in one shot to the head at all ranges, and two shots to the body at all ranges where the rifle does not do its maximum damage. The chest multiplier makes one hit kills possible out to 15 meters. The damage profile is shared with the L96 and M40, giving slightly higher damage than the SV98 at extreme ranges, but lower damage than the M98B when up close.

Battlefield Premium members can equip the Berkut Camouflage on the JNG-90 and upon the completion of the JNG-90 Specialist, they can also equip the Navy Blue Digital Camouflage.

For the heavier variant (and that version's DMR variant), see SCAR-H

The SOF Combat Assault Rifle-Light, or SCAR-L, is a modular assault rifle made by Belgian small arms company Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal (FN Herstal). This is the light assault rifle variant of the SCAR weapon system, differing from the SCAR-H in that it uses the smaller caliber 5.56x45 NATO round instead of the Heavy variant's 7.62x51mm NATO round. It uses the NATO standard 30 round STANAG magazines and a number of barrel length variants are available in both calibers.

"The SCAR rifle was commissioned by US SOCOM for use by the US Special Forces. It is capable of holding either “light” 5.56mm rounds or “heavy” 7.62mm rounds. The SCAR-L is the light variant."

— In-game description

The SCAR-L is a weapon featured in Battlefield 2 as a Tier Two unlock for the Special Forces Kit. It has marginally more spread than the G36C, as well as a prone modifier of 1.1, making it the only carbine whose minimum spread is unattainable under normal conditions; further, its visual recoil is identical to the M4's. It is marginally more powerful than the G36C and M4, but comes equipped with an optic like the latter carbine.

"The SCAR assault rifle family consists of a Heavy and a Light type, each available in several versions, with different barrel lengths and ammunition types. This Light model is used by SOCOM forces and was accepted by them as late as 2003. "

— In game description

The SCAR is a weapon featured in Battlefield: Bad Company.

SingleplayerEdit

The SCAR appears as a collectible. It can be found on Welcome to Bad Company, and Acta Non Verba, outside one of the factories while the player is destroying the Russian fuel reserves at the beginning of the level.

MultiplayerEdit

The SCAR is the default Compact Assault Rifle for the AmericanSpecialist kit. It has low damage and low rate of fire, compared to other Specialist weapons, making kills difficult to achieve. However, compared to other compact assault rifles, it does have good accuracy. It has a 60 round magazine and cannot use iron sights, as aiming simply does a slight zoom and increases accuracy (like all compact assault rifles in game).
